Head Gear Animation has created a whimsical ad for Chiquta Bananas and Doner-Detroit. Head Gear director Steve Angel shot the commercial like a puppet show that chronicles the voyage of a Chiquita banana as she treks from the jungle to the city on a transcontinental adventure. En route she encounters a chatty jungle bird, enjoys first-class luxury on an ocean liner, and finally disembarks safe and fresh at the local grocer. The series of background flats were hand-painted in the primitivist style of Henri Rousseau and manipulated by the animation team to give an organic, handmade feel to the ad.
